When Joe Thompson's wife is killed by a drunk driver leaving him with an eight-year-old daughter, the investigation leads to prominent surgeon Harris Clark, who has a history of drunken driving. Clark gets off on a technicality, and when he is found dead, suspicion turns to Thompson.
