This Marubeni Shindenki Co commercial is a three-part "Bird and Beast" caricature. From the booklet: "Producer Toshio Suzuki has always wanted to visualize bird and beast caricatures. He originally liked Choju-Giga, and he went to Kyoto. He went to Kosanji Temple, which owns Choju-Giga. In the meantime, he was approached by Marubeni Shindenki for a commercial, and since Marubeni is a traditional and old company, he thought that it would be fitting with a bird and beast caricature. Producer Suzuki consulted with Isao Takahata on the production. Director Takahata had his deep knowledge of Choju-Giga painting, and his book on picture scrolls, 'The 12th Century.'"
