What do film classics such as Rebel without a cause, Stand by me, The Graduate and American Graffiti all have in common? They are movies about coming of age. The concept is actually untranslatable, because 'coming of age' does not cover the load. In film history it stands for so much more, about growing up in the broadest sense of the word.
