Consciousness allows us to be agents in our own world, to interact with others, and to attribute consciousness to others as well. But where is this awareness? Where does it come from, how does it reproduce, what does it feed on? Where is the EU? Philosophy, psychology, neurobiology, for centuries have tried to understand, delimit, classify, and describe what consciousness is. What are the necessary and sufficient criteria for a being to be considered conscious, and the ethics involved in this. Seeking to be able to determine which beings are conscious and what the consequences of this are. But is this really necessary, or would it be a waste of time?
