With the desire to see himself further and better and better, the human being has always pushed the frontier of telescopes forward. From the first telescopes to the great observatories on the ground, the challenge has always been to get rid of interference from the atmosphere and broaden the horizons of the electromagnetic spectrum. With that came the era of space telescopes, pushing the atmosphere out of the way and making incredible discoveries from infrared to gamma rays. And that's what we're talking about in today's SciCast!
