The hunting only continues to escalate with no signs of abating. The vampires who are captured are branded with the letter "V" on their foreheads, and sent to concentration camps. The terror of racial segregation prevails. Blamed by other vampires, Toppei has no place to hide. Though once captured, Toppei is pulled out of a truck headed to a concentration camp by Mika. But Toppei bears strong hatred towards men, and he no longer needs the help of moonlight to transform himself. The sufferings of discrimination, prejudice, and suppression transform him into a beast on both physical and mental levels.
