Our journey starts with the oldest pearl in known existence at the Louvre Abu Dhabi's 10,000 Years of Luxury exhibition. We explore how taste, place and power combined, to create surprising cultural trends throughout our history. We meet with curators, cultural ambassadors and lifestyle critics to ask them whether luxury is really a personal indulgence or conspicuous consumption.
