Famed for its friendly if wayward residents and its ever-ready gunge-tank, Crinkley Bottom has become, accordingto Edmonds, the most famous village in Britain. "Everyone's heard of it," he says. "It's as famous as Ambridge." The recipe of celebrity guests, games and the dreaded Gotchas (this series features another list of gullible "clients") has proved successful for Edmonds - and the Ideal family TV formula. "There's been such a proliferation of TV hardware over the last few years that everyone tends to go to their rooms to watch their own thing," he says.
