14-year-old Clarissa was taken into care two years ago with her younger sister. She comes from a long line of foster-home kids and is determined to break the cycle. Clarissa makes the difficult decision to seek adoption without her sister and gives this unique project a try–but it’s not long before her plans go awry. Clarissa’s good friend, 17-year-old Laura, is also taking a leap of faith. Three years ago she made the painful decision not to stay with her mom, but with her 18th birthday fast approaching she wants to find a safe and secure place to call home.
