Zhuravlyev has an alibi and is released. Inga and Maksim control anyone who might wish for Rednikov, including Paula and Oleg. Doubt falls on artist Ustinov. Paula and her son are killed in a car accident. Inga suspects Rednikov's older son, Oleg. Soon Oleg disappears and Rednikov receives a ransom. Oleg is found on a suburban highway.
