Yann Kandinsky had met Thomas Bareski a few years ago. He in turn takes the wheel of the iconic Voyageur van, always accompanied by Bareski's dog. As the synopsis of "La Maison sous le vent", the fifth episode of the series reveals, the two police officers liked each other and had in common the visceral rejection of court decisions that lead to dismissals. After taking stock of his life - he is unattached, recently separated, blocked in his career - he decides to make himself available to the police as well. He then leaves for the Ardennes in order to solve the atrocious murder of a young woman, found beheaded in the forest. But learning is tough: an urban man does not become a "traveler" overnight living on the products of nature and barter.
Yann Kandinsky went green. But when he learns that Yves Cesnoz has been released and that he is again accused of the disappearance of a young woman, Angélique Martin, the Traveler lifts the camp to go to the Basque Country.

While parking his vehicle in the parking lot of a hotel in Centre-Val de Loire, Laurent is stopped by Justine. This young commercial attaché accuses him of harassing her on the road in the late afternoon. Laurent denies this attack, which leads to a violent argument. The next morning, Justine's body is found in her room. Having no doubt about the murder, the police arrest Laurent, filmed by the surveillance cameras of the hotel leaving the room of the victim at the supposed time of the crime. Yann Kandinsky recharges his batteries in a forest located in the depths of the Allier, eager to take a step back, after having faced the worst criminals. But his peace of mind was short-lived: the policeman was contacted by a man who called him without giving his identity. The latter establishes a link between three disappearances of women that occurred in the same geographical area, around Brest. The unknown man never ceases to feed Kandinsky's mailbox with press articles about these affairs. At the beginning of spring, Elise Macéna intervened again on behalf of Kandinsky, who had fallen into the clutches of the IGPN. He no longer knows how to thank this protective angel and is surprised that a rich heiress devotes her entire life to an activity as a commissioner. Macéna ends up revealing her secret, and the reason why she became a police officer: Anita Favreau, her mother, was murdered when she was 8 years old. The crime has never been solved.
