Between shadow puppetry and the return of split teams. In the eighth stage, the pairings discover a site unique in the world: the Stone Forest of Yunnan, made up of spectacular rock formations. On the racing side, teams must master the art of Chinese shadow puppetry in order to hitchhike forward. At the end of the stage, the split teams rule returns: each contestant must fend for themselves—either hitchhiking or during the immunity challenge—to protect their team’s place in the competition.
