Eve’s secret comes out when Nick finds a letter naming Shane as her father. He refuses to return it and uses it for leverage. Eve admits she hid the truth because she feared Shane wouldn’t want her, especially with Kim in the picture. Nick agrees to let her keep staying at Shane’s house if she’s “nice to him,” but he won’t give up the letter.
Shane and Gabrielle clash over case strategy, with Steve noting their arguments sound like lovers’ quarrels. Gabrielle later apologizes, and when Shane asks if she wants a family, she dodges, saying she thought about it long ago.
Kayla suffers unexplained fainting spells. At the Park Café she nearly collapses, and Steve catches her before Harper takes her home. Steve and Jo speculate she might be pregnant and imagine the baby could be his. Back home, Kayla tells Jack that Jo confirmed Harper’s story about why she left her job.
