Justin agrees to stop a riverfront protest for Anjelica’s sake, but when he learns Adrienne is leading it for displaced residents, he reverses course and proposes a counter‑demonstration. He narrowly avoids being seen kissing Anjelica on the pier.
Steve hides in the barn he once shared with Kayla. She finds his harmonica and leaves him a note, but a farmer intercepts it. Steve tries to retrieve it while Kayla waits by the phone for a call that never comes.
Diana tells Mike that James died while working on a classified project. Believing someone else is in danger, she and Mike warn Simon on the pier, where shots ring out. Simon introduces “FBI agent” Ed Daniels, but Diana is suspicious. After they leave, Simon’s associate emerges, implying their warning has been successfully shut down.
Jack is upset Kayla wants to help Steve, but Jennifer and Frankie distract him with a school interview. Later, they interview Adrienne, who passionately defends the riverfront demonstration.
