Glenn and Jennifer flee from Coach Locke, who is revealed as the drug dealer responsible for Glenn's brother's death. When Glenn is captured at gunpoint, Jennifer finds Frankie and they locate him at a warehouse. While Jennifer gets police help, Frankie confronts the coach. Max, searching for Frankie, appears in the alley and calls out; Locke turns and shoots the boy before police arrive.
Meanwhile, a newspaper article exposing Kim staying at Shane's house threatens her murder trial. Though deeply conflicted, Kim moves out despite Shane's protests. Back at home, they deny their growing romantic feelings for each other. Roman grieves Marlena's death and resists moving forward with Olivia, insisting their friendship is platonic. Elsewhere, a mysterious Marlena lives happily in the tropics with two children, unaware of events in Salem.
