Kayla and Max run into Steve at Shenanigans. Max begs him to join them; Steve refuses, upsetting Max. Outside, Max gives him the silent treatment until Steve admits he and Kayla “sort of” had a fight and he hopes to make it up to her someday. Kayla overhears.
On the ski trip, Abe calls Roman to report Emma’s death. Carrie panics at the thought of going home, afraid of losing him. Roman comforts her, and Olivia arrives offering help with the twins. Roman admits he misses Marlena’s guidance.
Victor orders Emma’s file destroyed to avoid suspicion, but a page falls unnoticed. Bo and Hope argue over Victor’s influence.
Shane confronts Kim, convinced she’s hiding something about Emma’s murder. Abe arrives with questions; Kim panics, and Shane subtly coaches her through the interview. After Abe leaves, Shane presses her again, furious she lied.
