Kayla, Caroline and Neil plan the New Year’s party, dreading Emma’s attendance. Kim and Shane prepare their scheme; he teaches her to use the gun and lures Emma to dinner. Roman clears Marlena’s office and decides to take Carrie and the twins skiing. As they leave, Orpheus calls to taunt him; Roman hangs up.
At Shane’s, Kim confronts Emma and demands Andrew’s location. She pulls a gun, Shane rushes in, and they stage a struggle. The gun fires, Emma collapses, then “recovers,” convinced Shane wants her back. She agrees to meet him at Neil’s party. Shane later tells Kim Emma is close to breaking.
Emma returns home claiming Kim tried to kill her and Shane saved her. She insists Shane still loves her; Alex warns she may not live to see the New Year.
Jennifer catches Frankie sketching; he hides it. Feeling guilty for being self‑focused, she encourages him to open up. She and Glenn invite him on a double date, and he reluctantly agrees.
