Caroline has broken off with her lover, Judge Mathieu Védrine. The latter is set on revenge and makes her life impossible. Robert has taken on a particularly delicate case, defending a childminder accused of being responsible for the death of a child in her care. Driven to despair, the mother demands justice whilst the defendant continues to claim her innocence.
