Adventure series set in the twelfth century. England is suffering under the rule of Prince John. Ivanhoe is making his way back home disguised as a pilgrim after being wrongly disgraced for betraying Richard whilst in Palestine. He reaches his fathers house just in time for his beloved Rowena to be betrothed to a Saxon prince. Ivanhoe's enemy Bois-Guilbert is also back from the crusades. He orders the death of Isaac of York but Ivanhoe intervenes.
