A young girl's kidnapping, sexual assault and subsequent murder horrified authorities and the local community. Police found her body inside a suitcase located in a neighbor's apartment. Although the prosecution of the male neighbor was successful, the lead detective on the case left homicide squad one year later not wanting to ever handle another child homicide.
