Elena Warnetzki lives in an allotment garden colony, fishes food from garbage containers and lives without a television, computer, smartphone and above all: without money. Elena has a problem. Her ex-husband Thomas Warnetzki has disappeared. Wilsberg can be spread to exchange his services for theirs. Elena's worst fears come true. Thomas, a garbage collector, is found dead in a garbage can. The body discovery calls Commissioner Anna Springer and her colleague Overbeck on the scene. Who killed Warnetzki and wanted to dispose of him this way? The investigation leads Wilsberg to the dead man's employer, the local waste disposal company "Mynstermyll".
