They are trained to "de-escalate," but when necessary, they can absolutely hold their ground. This is evident when they respond to reports of an Audi driving through Amsterdam with a driver allegedly carrying a weapon and possibly firing along the way. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Jan and 31-year-old Lieke are forced to draw their weapons when a man threatens his ex.
