Kansuke leaves a note to Harunobu and goes on a trip to shake off his unsettling mind. Meanwhile in Echigo, unified by Kagetora, conflicts over the territory between the ruling families continue as a result of the long drawn out battles. Kagetora is disappointed with the quarrels among his retainers and suddenly disappears from Echigo.
