Kagetora entrusts Kansuke to Usami, as an indication of Takeda's plot to seize Echigo and make Usami realize the importance of unifying Echigo. Usami understands Kagetora's intention and decides to serve the Nagao family. Meanwhile, Kansuke is unable to meet Kagetora's demand and is set to be executed.
