David Finlayson and his 13 year-old son Charlie are rock climbing in Idaho's Bighorn Crags when a large boulder falls off the cliff face and smashes into David. The rock fractures his back, shatters his left arm and heel and opens up a deep gash that exposes his left shin bone. Next, Carolyn Lloyd and her daughter, Rachel, enjoy a day hike in the mountains outside of Wellington, New Zealand. They became lost on the descent and Rachel falls into a river.
