"De Parelvissers" was founded in 1994 by a group of friends-for-life and quickly became one of the most successful television production companies in Flanders. After six years Jan De Ridder, one of the founders, disappears without a trace and with a hundred million Belgian francs from De Parelvissers' bank account. The company goes bankrupt and the friends lose touch with each other.
Five years later Piet, Jan's younger brother, gathers everyone in the Ardennes because he wants to create a documentary about Jan's disappearance.
