When a prowler terrorises Matlock, police suspect that he could be a seasonal worker, but further events lead them to believe he could be a local. Another complication involves Sen. Const. Hogan when his life is endangered by a frantic woman, Carol Anderson, who hates being left at home alone, and whose husband, Dick, is a commercial traveller.
