A hitman targets Justin, but Steve stops the attack. Justin brushes it off as a robbery, while Steve suspects a Kiriakis enemy. Victor assigns Damon as Justin’s bodyguard. Adrienne learns of the danger, and though Justin worries for her safety, she chooses to stay by his side. Roman finds surveillance bugs in Diana’s apartment. Diana angrily confronts Victor, then learns from Roman and Phillip that Phillip planted them to protect her from Victor. She feels foolish, and tension rises when Victor arrives to reassure her and invite her to dinner. Bill asks Jennifer and Mike to move in with him. Both refuse—Jennifer upset he’s “ruining everything,” Mike noting Bill was never a real father. Their grandparents urge reconsideration, but Jennifer chooses dorm life. Alice warns Bill’s return will force the issue eventually. Steve keeps Kayla’s engagement ring and reflects on their breakup. Shawn confronts him, insisting Kayla move on. Steve holds onto the ring instead of letting it go.
