Robin breaks off her engagement to Mike, believing his faith commitment isn't genuine despite his studies. The heartbreak occurs just before Maggie's surprise birthday party at the hospital, where family gathers to celebrate. After the party, Robin discharges herself and leaves Mike with his ring, devastated but resolute about her religious convictions. Meanwhile, Victor and Dr. Hopkins pursue a mysterious disk that Diana possesses, believing it contains a valuable formula. They hire gunmen to steal it from Kim and Diana at the Donovan residence. When the armed men hold them at gunpoint, Shane and Roman arrive in time to rescue them after Kim's coded warning during a phone call. The gunmen are arrested. Diana secretly retrieves the disk from its hiding place, and Roman suspects the shooting incident connects to Victor's agenda rather than being a simple robbery. Victor remains determined to obtain the disk while pursuing fugitives Steve, Kayla, and Adrienne.
