Steve violently confronts Duke at the hospital until Kayla intervenes. The clash forces Steve to confess his past—Duke’s abuse, Jo’s suffering, and the fire he set at age five trying to kill his father. He begs Jo and Adrienne to stay with him, but Jo refuses, insisting she must return to Duke. Kayla comforts Steve, telling him he did everything he could. Shane investigates Barbara’s alibi and learns she could have flown from Texas to Salem and back the same night Emma died. He secretly photographs her to show cab and bus drivers. Barbara visits Kim in prison, nervously asking about her appeal, deepening Shane’s suspicions. Frankie tutors Jennifer in math, and their chemistry peaks when they dance to Can’t Help Falling in Love, though Frankie pulls back. Jennifer hides it from Glenn. Neil visits Kim to lift her spirits, and Shane later learns Barbara visited her—another troubling sign in the case.
