María Inés forces Juan to realize the evil that lives within him, since he has never been willing to sacrifice his comfort for anyone. Beatriz disowns Juan after learning that her own father orchestrated Sofía's disappearance. María Inés confesses to Isela that her daughter Sofía survived Juan's decisions hoping to provide comfort to her pain. Juan asks for Felipe's help to obtain Beatriz's forgiveness, since he cannot continue to endure another minute of life without the affection of his daughter.
