Walczak and Wichura are assigned to the case of a body found in a gazebo in an allotment garden. The deceased is identified as Filip Joniak, a small-time recidivist who worked for Miech, a local gangster. Joniak allegedly robbed Miech, but the gangster has an alibi - he was abroad at the time of the murder. Joniak's body was found in the gazebo by homeless people who intended to spend the night there. Walczak and Wichura do not know that the homeless have robbed the body, taking, among other things, the deceased's phone number - which may prove to be key evidence in the case. Everyone at the police station is preparing for the upcoming funeral of Julia Pakulska. Even Bolek Kowalski, who has not been seen in Wrocław for a long time, comes to the ceremony.
