Trois bagnards au cœur tendre, et leur petit compagnon : un serpent nommé "Adolphe", résolvent radicalement les problèmes posés à un brave commerçant, par l' irruption intempestive de deux parents éminemment antipathiques. En même temps, ils aident la fille du commerçant à surmonter un chagrin d' amour.
