Caliph Abu Jaafar succeeds in removing Issa bin Musa from the position of crown prince and appointing his son Muhammad al-Mahdi as his crown prince. After Issa bin Musa pledges allegiance to the Mahdi, the chamberlain Abu al-Rabi’ plans to trap Minister Abu Ayyub with the caliph.
