While Yanagi informs the gang about the Signers and the Dragon Birthmarks, Yusei is challenged by a mysterious man with a Spider shaped birthmark on his arm who is able to make the duel into a Shadow Duel. Yusei is surprised to find his opponent has a fearsome new type of monster, a Dark Synchro Monster. Meanwhile, a reporter named Carly tries to get the scoop on the new Duel King.
