Although her husband, Shigeki, now sees her in a whole new light, she has eyes only for Marutaro. Meanwhile, Yuko’s job in Chiba is going well. One day she hears from Shigeo that he’s writing a new novel. Overjoyed, she calls him in Yoronjima and talks to her son for the first time in ages. Though the conversation is awkward, she feels closer to Daisuke and they promise to meet for New Year’s. And so the three women begin their new lives…
