Monuments and museums to commemorate the dead are disappearing one after another due to the advancing age of their staff and insufficient funding. At the same time, some young people play at soldiers, wearing the uniforms and accessories of the former Japanese military forces that they buy via online auctions. One veteran says the memories of the war are at risk of being totally forgotten with the next generation. What can we do to preserve and pass on the history of war?
