Mal tries to reconcile with Karl but Karl thinks it is not that simple. But when Mal gets the news from Cuppa Diem that he has lost the franchise rights, Karl is on hand to lend support. There is the beginnings of a reconciliation and Karl wonders whether Mal should not read this as a sign he and Catherine should come home to Erinsborough and live at Number Thirty-Two.
