I Love To Pretend! (3x11)
Uitzenddatum: Sep 17, 2003
Rexy is dressed in a cape and mask, trying to pretend to be a superhero. He's looking for something superheroic to do. He hears windchimes and pretends that they're sound of an approaching dragon. He pretends to track the dragon saying that the dragon isn't fooling him and he's not afraid of it. Gilbert and Teddy come out and see him pretending. Gilbert wonder what he's doing and Teddy explains it to him. Gilbert thinks it sounds like fun and wants to join in. Gilbert roars, pretending to be something evil. Rexy gets scared, thinking that it's real at first, but Teddy tells him that it's just Gilbert pretending. He tells Rexy he knows how he can fight the dragon. He has Rexy turn on the garden hose and spray him with it. Gilbert says that it isn't fair, he was just pretending. Rexy tells him that nobody messes with Super Rexy and gets away dry. As for Caillou, he's not playing superhero, or anything villainous either, but he does pretend to be a robot and also goes on a pretend safari.
"I, Robot" Caillou and Leo are outside playing in Caillou's driveway when Sarah stops by and shows off her new toy robot. Leo asks her to show them how it works, so she demonstrates that she can use a remote control to make it go forwards and backwards and even pick up a stick. She then has to leave, though. Caillou says that he'd like to have a robot like it. Leo starts pretending to be a robot, so Caillou makes up a pretend remote control. He and Caillou then take turns playing robot. Mommy makes them both a robot disguise. Caillou also borrows a pot which Rosie happens to be banging on and makes it into a silly robot hat. Then, he and Leo get into a bit of an argument because they both want to be a robot, but they only have one remote control. They run into Mommy, who decides to take over the remote control and control both of them. She uses the remote control to "make them jump" and then says she has to go cook dinner. So the boys take back the remote control and this time decide to pretend that Mommy is a robot. She gladly obliges for a little while, but then she takes back the remote and says that Caillou and Leo are robots again. However, she can't get the remote control to work and says that it must have gone dead. She pretends to push a "restart" button on both of them and they're once again functioning robots.
"Just Like Daddy" It's morning and Caillou is stirring the milk in his cereal like he's bored. He starts making "beep beep" noises. He turns to Daddy and asks him what he's doing and Daddy tells him that he's making a list of things to do. Mommy says that she and Rosie are going to the store. She asks Caillou if he wants to come along, but he says he wants to stay with Daddy. He does and says that he wants to drink coffee like Daddy. Daddy says that coffee is a little too strong for him, but he does get to drink from a mug like the one that Daddy has. Mommy leaves for the grocery store, but first she shows Caillou that she's making an addition to Daddy's list: "make lunch." Caillou goes to give the list to Daddy, but then Gilbert gets a hold of it. Caillou manages to finally get it back from him. He goes upstairs and sees that Daddy is shaving. He wants to do it too, so Daddy puts some shaving cream on his face and he pretends like he's shaving. While he's doing this, Gilbert comes in and grabs the list again. Caillou wants to go after it, but Daddy, not even knowing what it is, tells Caillou that he needs to clean off his face first. After getting out of the bathroom, Caillou helps Daddy by gluing a leg onto a table. They then clean it off because it's very dusty and making Daddy sneeze. Daddy then says he's going to take a newspaper break and Caillou pretends to take one too. He then helps Daddy put away some washers and bolts and such into various jars. Rosie and Mommy return and Rosie sees what Caillou and Daddy are doing. She says she wants to help, but Daddy tells her it's a job for Caillou and him. Mommy asks if Daddy made lunch and Daddy wonders what she's talking about. Then, Rosie finds Gilbert and the list. She tosses it over to Daddy, who complains that making lunch wasn't on the list in the morning. Mommy explains that she added it. They decide to all make lunch together and the narrator comments that while Caillou likes helping his Daddy, he likes helping his Mommy too.
"Caillou Tries Karate" Caillou is in Rosie's room, asking Mommy if he can go to the park. Mommy says that she has to take Rosie to her swimming lessons and Caillou asks if he can come along. Mommy reminds him that Leo is supposed to be coming over in the afternoon. This satisfies Caillou, who is happy that Leo is coming over. He goes downstairs and the phone rings. He picks it up, but the phone call is actually for Daddy. It turns out that it's Sarah's Mom. She has a bad cold and so she's wondering if Daddy could take Sarah to her karate class. Daddy agrees. A bit later, Leo arrives and he and Caillou go upstairs to play in Caillou's room. Later on, Sarah arrives. Daddy tells her she's still in her pajamas and she explains to him that it's not pajamas, it's called Gi Pants, her karate outfit. She goes upstairs to talk to Caillou and Leo and shows off some karate moves for them. She says she has to go to her class, but maybe later she can go back and show them some more moves. She returns later and does just that and the whole family enjoys her performance.
"Caillou's Safari" Caillou is in his room, with Teddy. He has a matching game card he wants to play, apparently by himself, but he finds that his card set has only one card. He asks Teddy if he's seen any of his cards. Teddy naturally doesn't respond, so Caillou heads downstairs. Downstairs, it would seem that Rosie has some of Caillou's cards. Daddy tells Caillou as much when he asks about it. He gives Caillou a box to put the cards in and tells Caillou that he saw a card in the bathroom with a whale on it. Caillou has fun, going on a sort of scavenger hunt for the cards. Eventaully, he comes across Rosie, who insists that the cards are hers. They argue until Mommy notes that they haven't even found all the cards yet. She suggests that they turn finding the cards into a safari. They do so and have fun finding the cards in all sorts of different places and pretending that they're the various animals depicted on the cards. Eventually, Daddy shows up and says that it's time for dinner. Caillou says that he wants to continue pretending. Daddy says that they're having hamburgers for dinner and Caillou changes his mind very quickly.
Just Like Daddy: Daddy has a list of things to do around the house. However, the list soon disappears thanks to Gilbert who has decided to take off with it. Mom and Rosie go to the store, Caillou stays at home with his Daddy, and has a lot of fun imitating him and helping him with the chores Dad remembers from the missing list.
Caillou And The Bulldozer: On an autumn day, Caillou and his Mommy take a walk and pass by a construction site. Caillou loves to watch the big bulldozer and starts to pretend he is one too. Back home, not everyone likes Bulldozer-Caillou as he chases Gilbert with his dust pan/bulldozer shovel and destroys Rosie's block tower. Caillou helps Rosie build a new tower and finally finds a perfect job for a bulldozer: bulldozing the leaves with Dad in the backyard.
Caillou Tries Karate: Leo comes over to play at Caillou's house. They have fun pretending to be bears until Sarah shows up wearing a GY (white Karate outfit). Dad had promised to drive her to her Karate lesson. Sarah introduces Caillou and Leo to Karate and demonstrates a few moves. While she is at her class, the boys have their own pretend Karate game. When Sarah comes back, she gives another lesson to the whole family.
Caillou's Safari: Caillou wants to play with his animal cards but they have disappeared. A search soon reveals that Rosie has been playing with them, scattering them around the house. Caillou's new mission: to find them! So Caillou and Rosie head out on a safari, working together to find the animal cards.
