The main event of Genesis saw Bobby Roode successfully defend the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Jeff Hardy. Other matches on the card had Kurt Angle defeating James Storm in a singles match, Crimson and Matt Morgan defending the TNA World Tag Team Championship facing Samoa Joe and Magnus, Abyss triumphant in a Monster's Ball match against Bully Ray, and Austin Aries retaining the TNA X Division Championship in a Four-Corners Elimination match against Kid Kash, Jesse Sorensen and Zema Ion.

In the main event, Bobby Roode defeated Rob Van Dam in a Ladder match to retain the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Other matches that preceded the final bout were Kurt Angle defeating A.J Styles, Austin Aries defeating Bully Ray, and Crimson defeating Eric Young, all in a singles match. Also, Devon defeated Robbie E and Robbie T to retain his TNA Television Championship, Gail Kim defeated Brooke Tessmacher to retain her TNA Women's Knockout Championship, and Christopher Daniels and Kazarian defeated Samoa Joe and Magnus to win the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

The main event featured at the Destination X was Austin Aries defeating Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Other high profile matches included A.J Styles defeating Christopher Daniels in a Last Man Standing match and Samoa Joe defeating Kurt Angle in a Bound for Glory Series match. The remainder of the show hosted an X Division Tournament to determine a new TNA X Division Champion.
