When a politician died mysteriously during a hard-fought re-election campaign, the medical examiner could neither isolate the cause of death, nor explain the tiny puncture wounds discovered during the autopsy. If the victim had been murdered, it would be up to investigators to determine if her political enemies were to blame, or if the killer was someone much closer to home.
