In this episode Joe meets RAF officer Tom Heinowski and his family who are all set to move to the south coast and tackle an empty property. Tom and Katie want to do much of the work themselves and are excited about embarking on a project together, so Joe shows them a four-bedroom, rural stable conversion that needs major modernisation. Tom then hears some advice from a couple who have just completed a very similar project. We find out about the government's latest stragegy to address the UK's vacant housing issues, and we head to Cardiff to catch up with empty property officer Steve Reed who is doing his best to get abandoned homes back in use.
