Kim drunkenly calls ISA chief Tarrington about Shane’s recovery, then forgets it. Shane takes an ISA case and Philip must return to LA, leaving Kim anxious and alone.
Roman, struggling after seven years in prison, feels his reunion with Marlena isn’t what he imagined. His surprise getaway plans fall flat. Stella warns Marlena doesn’t truly know Roger and fears he’ll relapse.
Roger panics over an arts grant and convinces Marlena to sit for a portrait; he sketches her beautifully, saying he paints what he sees. Marlena is moved.
Stella grows increasingly unstable. She reads a case file about a man who killed his cheating wife and empathizes with him. Later, hallucinating Marlena in her mirror, she smashes it and cuts her hand.
Victor gives Nicholas a horse for his birthday and offers Vivian a limited stake in the Kiriakis empire, which she reluctantly accepts.
