Molly tells Roman and Marlena about Gavin’s assault. Marlena explains Gavin may plead to a lesser charge unless Molly goes public. Tanner overhears her mention Crystal Lake and realizes Gavin also assaulted his mother, leading to her suicide. He attacks Gavin, and Brian refuses to arrest him, leaving his badge behind. Tanner later confesses his misplaced blame to Vern, and Julie regrets not seeing Molly’s trauma. Molly chooses to go public, and Julie arranges press coverage.
Carrie meets her neighbor Austin at the recycling bin and learns he’s a pianist. She invites him over under a flimsy excuse, and they bond over jazz. Austin drives Carrie and Jesse to the mall, but Carrie is disappointed when he leaves with another woman.
