Jack lies to Jennifer about meeting the bank manager, claiming it's for Spectator business. In reality, he's secretly interviewing prospective husbands for her at Wings, believing she needs someone better than him after he abandoned her at their wedding. His mother Jo reluctantly supports him but warns he's a fool.
Jennifer discovers the lie when Julie reveals the banker is in Texas. Confronted at the courthouse, Jack remains evasive. When he gives Jennifer his handkerchief to dry emotional tears, she notices lipstick, Jo's from their earlier goodbye kiss, and fears he's unfaithful.
Meanwhile, Marlena and Roman visit the Lombards to help Stella escape Roger's control. Roman threatens Roger not to take his anger out on his family. At the trial, Lisanne calls Shane as a hostile witness. Kayla receives a job offer from LA, and Shane encourages her to take it.
