Jack and Jennifer execute a dangerous plan to trap Hawk. They stage a loud argument at Alice's to convince Hawk that Jack is out of control and murderous, successfully fooling him into hiding. Outside, Desiree attempts to disarm Hawk's gun by replacing bullets with blanks, but only partially succeeds, one live bullet remains in the chamber. Jack prepares for the confrontation with romantic goodbyes to Jennifer, kissing her passionately before leaving. Desiree realizes the danger too late and rushes to warn them, but Jack has already driven to confront Hawk at Desiree's Salem Inn room. Jennifer races after him. When Jack bursts in threatening Hawk with his gun, Hawk draws his weapon. A shot fires. Jennifer arrives to find Jack bleeding on the ground. Meanwhile, Marlena struggles with Roman's mysterious disappearance, confronting Shane about his whereabouts while dealing with her children's questions about their father. She tells Eric and the twins they are now their complete family.
