They find a coded journal in the basement that may unlock the disk's secrets but are shocked when James himself arrives home. Meanwhile, Roman and Abe interrogate Jo Johnson about missing Adrienne's whereabouts; Jo insists she's in Chicago helping relatives. Jo and Caroline Brady clash on the pier over Steve and Kayla but eventually find common ground.
On the home front, Sasha sabotages Jennifer's senior project while flaunting gifts from Nick. When Carrie overhears this, she tells Jennifer, who furiously confronts Sasha at Shenanigans and punches her. Frankie and Jennifer continue growing closer, with Jennifer wearing his bracelet daily. Roman celebrates Carrie's good grades and gives her parental advice after she confesses Derek harassed her at prom.
