Kayla presses Steve to open up about his past, but he shuts down. Joanie, a waitress, asks Kayla for help placing her son for adoption. Later, Joanie tells Steve she can’t afford to keep her child; Steve urges her not to give him up and gives her his pool winnings. Kayla sees this and realises it’s tied to Steve’s own childhood, but he angrily rejects her insight and storms out.
Abe searches Shane’s house and hints an arrest is imminent. Shane hides what he knows about Kim’s fight with Emma and tries to reach her. At the hospital, Kim panics as Abe searches Alex’s room. Paul takes her home, where Abe arrives with a warrant and finds a vial of the drug that killed Emma. Kim insists she’s never seen it.
At Shenanigans, Abe tells Kim the vial matches Emma’s murder weapon and arrests her. Shane demands answers; Kim repeats she didn’t kill Emma as Abe takes her into custody.
