Kayla and Max run into Steve at lunch. Max begs him to join them, and outside Steve admits he likes Kayla “a whole lot” and hopes to make things right. Kayla overhears, and the three share a tentative but warm meal.
On the ski trip, Abe tells Roman Emma is dead. Carrie panics at the idea of going home, afraid of losing him. Roman comforts her, and Olivia arrives offering support. Roman admits he’s struggling without Marlena; Carrie overhears and tearfully embraces him.
Victor destroys his file on Emma to protect Kim, unaware a page falls loose. Bo and Hope argue over Victor’s influence.
Shane confronts Kim, revealing Emma died with Kim’s hair in her hand. Kim admits they fought but insists she left Emma alive. Abe questions them again; Shane lies to protect her. He tells Kim he believes her and will remove anything pointing to her guilt.
