Gilles resolved to negotiate with the Taliban to organise the evacuation of his refugees by bus. While Giovanni tries to get his first Afghan refugees off the ground, Vera, guided by one of General Hassan's soldiers, arrives at a Taliban camp where the general is said to be locked up. At the same time, Amina flees the hospital with little Nooria, while her brother, Fazal, under American orders, infiltrates an Islamic State cell that is preparing an attack.
